Artspace Lifespace

Artspace Lifespace is a Registered Charity (No: 1168150) that recycles vacant, under-used and problem properties into thriving creative resources. We work in partnership with artists, building owners, property developers, local communities and organisations to secure and re-cycle interesting, unusual and often difficult buildings as vibrant multi-use art venues. We also act as an advisory body for artists and groups interested in taking on empty properties and turning them into creative hubs.

Why were we on the programme?

We love working with artists of every discipline, and are looking at how to comfortably/ naturally work with a wider representation of the population in Artspace Lifespace, on a permanent basis. We would love to get a lot of different groups using the space and coming back – an ongoing coming together of talent. Bristol is a multicultural and very creative city, we’re researching how to explore and address the barriers for everyone in making things better and different. The Inclusion Programme with Creative Workforce for the Future has come at a good time for us to plot a permanent, inclusive future, where everyone feels they belong in Artspace, Lifespace.
