Wise Children is a new theatre company created and led by multi-award-winning director Emma Rice. We make ground-breaking work with exceptional artists and tour it across the UK and internationally. We run a unique professional development programme, The School for Wise Children, training a new and more diverse generation of theatre practitioners. We’re also working to transform touring theatre in the UK, challenging outmoded models and discovering the creative spaces of the future.
Why were we on the programme?
Excellence, innovation and inclusion are at the heart of what we do at Wise Children, and our ambition is to fully represent our society on and off stage. Pathways are really important and we offer high quality training at the School for Wise Children with full bursaries for at least 50% of places. The Creative Workforce Inclusion Programme is a great head start to the investment we’re making in inclusion in 2021. We’re out to increase our network of talent, and play our role in diversifying the industry.
